a. 27 - 29 hrs
The fertilized egg is beginning to develop. The chick is very small and is started to get a backbone.
b. 38 - 43 hrs
The chick’s head is starting to develop more. The eye is starting to develop and the spinal cord is developing more.
c. 56 hrs
The head is starting to develop and the yolk is starting to take form. The chick is starting to become more curved rather than straight.
d. 60-70 hrs.
The spinal cord looks closer to developed, it hasn’t really grown in size but some details can be made out like eyes.
e. 80 hrs.
The chick looks very close to complete with a very well developed spinal cord. It has grown as size and some more detailed features can be noticed.
f. hatching
The chick is hatching out of the hard shell egg. You can see its foot coming out and numerous cracks in the egg shell.
